Francis Marion University invites applications for a tenure-track position in biology. A successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting. We are seeking a biologist with a strong background in freshwater fisheries or fish ecology. Responsibilities include: help design and grow a new freshwater ecology center, teach courses in introductory biology sequence as well as upper division courses in candidate’s area of expertise including fisheries; perform scholarly activities, including mentor undergraduate research projects; serve on department / university committees; provide academic advising for students; participate in additional professional services as needed. This position is a 9-month contract. Internal funding for professional development and research projects is available on a competitive basis.
The start date is flexible; either January 2020 or August 2020.
Earned doctorate in Fisheries or Biology from an accredited institution. ABD with imminent completion date will be considered.
