The Field Museum invites applications for an Assistant Curator of Herpetology. The Field Museum's Amphibian and Reptile collections are global in scope and taxonomically extensive, with particular strengths in the tropics. We seek candidates with a record of scientific achievement in collections-based research, and an emphasis in evolutionary biology such as systematics, comparative morphology, biogeography, phylogenetics, developmental or molecular biology or related fields.
In addition to developing an externally funded research program, responsibilities include curation of collections, administration, and participation in public exhibit and education programs. Close relationships with local universities allow participation in graduate and undergraduate training.
This position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline that must be held by the start of employment.
